Types of Placeholders
Placeholder | Image | Field | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
Short / Long Answer | ![]() | Text e.g. Name, NRIC, Telephone Number | Select your desired capitalisation: e.g. lowercase, UPPERCASE, Title Case. Advanced Feature: Allowing multiple selection with checkbox function on FormSG below. |
Number / Decimal | ![]() | Values e.g. Salary, Cost | Select your desired decimal places. Values are rounded to fit into your chosen number of decimal places. |
Date | ![]() | Date | Select your desired date format. Your date will appear in this format regardless of how users enter their dates in FormSG. |
Formula (Numeric) | ![]() | Calculations with numbers e.g. Total, Average | The variables used must either be a user-entered number or a number/decimal placeholder. Similarly, select your desired decimal places. |
Formula (Date) | ![]() | Calculations with dates e.g. Contract start date, Contract end date | This placeholder requires the use of an existing date placeholder. Select the duration to add or subtract to the date field. You may stack multiple time periods by selecting "Add Entry". |
Table | ![]() | Populated Table e.g. Table of team members, Roles, Commitment period | This placeholder should be added on a new line on its own, as it will be replaced by an entire table. See example below. |
Signature | ![]() | Signature | If FormSG is used, there must be a question to obtain the email addresses of the intended signers, who will then be emailed to sign the generated PDF document. When linking the project, select Signify as an option for output destination. Do not use the reserved placeholder [recipient_email]. See example below. |
IF | ![]() | Instructions relevant for different users e.g. Employment clauses | IF placeholders are a special type of placeholder where you can hide or display information in your document, depending on whether a condition is met. The content should be enclosed within the IF placeholder. See example below. |
Placeholder names can only contain alphanumeric (letters and numbers only) and underscore characters. An exception to this rule is the Formula Placeholder (for both Numerical and Date Formulas).
