Generated Document Error and Alignment Issues

Generated Document Error and Alignment Issues

1. Why are my texts truncated?

You have used different fonts for the placeholders and the rest of the content in the Word document.

Ensure that all fonts, including placeholders are uniform.

Truncated Text

2. Why is my document displaying weird symbols?

You may have used erroneous symbols, for instance an apostrophe (' ) which may not be detected correctly as it is treated as string literals.

Use the right single quotation mark (') to break string delimiters.

Correct Syntax: Correct Syntax

Incorrect Syntax: Incorrect Syntax

3. Why is my document displaying duplicated zero for cells left blank in CSV file?

Due to the nature of the number placeholders set up, zero is displayed when there is no value keyed in the CSV cells.

Switch to using short/long answer placeholders instead

4. My document has text overlapped with footnotes. What can I do to resolve this?

Add page or section breaker to separate the different texts, and align text to fit into textbox

5. I received an error message stating that I am using the old version of the Signify API which is no longer supported

Please ensure that you are using the latest Word Add-In. You may download the latest version from the docCentral portal after you have logged in. Once done, you may use the Word Add-In to insert the signature placeholders onto your Word Document template.

⚠️

Take note that signature placeholders cannot be named as [recipient_email] as it is a reserved placeholder for projects that select Email as an output.

6. The signatures overlap in on the generated document. What's wrong?

Avoid including multiple Signature placeholders in a single cell of table as it tends to overlap though they are in separate lines.

To work around, create separate rows and place the Signature placeholder in individual rows

7. I did not receive the generated documents in my inbox or junk folder. What happened?

If you are using Email as the output destination:

  1. Ensure that there is a [recipient_email] question in your FormSG/CSV
  2. Ensure that a valid email address with no spacing before or after the email is provided E.g., abcs_test[space]@cpf.gov.sg or [space][email protected]

If you are using Signify:

  1. Ensure that you have a signature placeholder added into your Word Document template
  2. Ensure that a valid email address with no spacing before or after the email is provided E.g., mark_teo[space]@cpf.gov.sg or [space][email protected]
  3. Ensure that you did not name the signature placeholder as recipient_email because this placeholder is reserved for the email output destination
